How to Apply to TESDA Carpentry NC II



Carpenters or builders are among the highest paid in the art field because they are considered creators. They work on several tasks in the construction industry, such as insulating buildings, installing kitchen cabinets, building bridges, and sky-scraping structures. They use various tools to create diverse shapes and sizes of materials, such as wood, fiberglass, and drywall.

Follow these steps on how you can enroll in the course.





TESDA Carpentry NC II: A Course Overview

The TESDA Carpentry NC II focuses on acquiring the necessary skills, knowledge, and training to become a skilled carpenter, such as working with wood, stripping form works, and fabricating and installing wooden panels, doors, windows, stairs, and floor supports.

The course requires 301 hours to finish depending on the school or TESDA accredited training centers you enroll in. A student will also learn the following:
  • How to prepare construction materials and tools
  • How to observe proper procedures, specifications, and manuals of instructions
  • How to perform measurements and calculations
  • How to maintain tools and equipment
  • How to prepare or stake out building lines
  • How to install framing works

Once students complete the course, they are already qualified as a rough carpenters.


Qualifications

  • Filipino citizen
  • Has completed the Alternative Learning System (ALS) equivalent or at least ten years of basic education
  • Can communicate in basic English, either oral or written
  • Physically and mentally fit
  • With good moral character
  • Can perform basic mathematical computation



Requirements

  • Academic Record (at least High School Diploma)
  • Good Moral Character Certificate or Honorable Dismissal Certificate
  • ID Picture with White Background (1x1 or 2x2)
  • Medical Certificate
  • NBI, Police, and Barangay Clearance
  • NC Certification (if needed)
  • PSA Birth Certificate



How to Enroll in TESDA Carpentry NC II


Step 1: Check the TESDA training facility that is nearest you. Go to https://www.tesda.gov.ph/, scroll down to the bottom of the page and look for Verifications, then choose Registered Courses.




Step 2: Type Carpentry and your location. The list of TESDA-accredited training centers will show up.



Step 3: Visit or call your chosen TESDA-accredited training center and inquire about the details. 

Step 4: Take the admission test. Step 5: Complete all the requirements stated above.




How to Apply for Assessment and TESDA Certification


Once you have completed the required number of hours to complete the course, you may now apply for an assessment and certification. Here are the steps to follow:

Step 1: Go to any TESDA Accredited Assessment Centers/TESDA District or Provincial Office near your location (See List Here) and apply for assessment.

Step 2: Submit the following documentary requirements:

1. Duly accomplished Application Form;
2. Properly and completely filled-out Self Assessment Guide of your chosen qualification;
3. Three (3) pieces of colored and passport size picture, white background, with collar and with name printer at the back;

Step 3: Pay the Assessment Fee at the Assessment Center Cashier and get the Official Receipt and Admission Slip. See List of Assessment Fees.

Step 4: Be present at the scheduled date and assigned assessment venue indicated in the Admission Slip. Don't forget to bring your admission slip on your assessment date.

Step 5: Get the Competency Assessment Result Summary (CARS) at the Assessment Center.

Step 6: Assessment passers must apply for certification at the TESDA District/Provincial Office, where the assessment center/venue is under jurisdiction.

Step 7: Assessment passers can claim their National Certificate (NC)/Certificate of Competency (COC) seven (7) working days after the application for the issuance of COC/NC.



Reminders:

1. National Certificate/Certificate of Competency must be released directly to the applicant. However, if to be claimed by a representative, a Special Power of Attorney (SPA) by the applicant should be submitted.

2. Assessment Results (CARS), Official Receipt issued by Assessment Centers, and valid Identification Card (ID) should also be presented upon claiming COCs.
