Adverstisement

McDonald’s Ride-Thru serves any vehicle, as long as it has wheels

If you feel like you’ve been seeing more and more bikes and electric scooters on the road lately, it’s likely because of how the pandemic has changed the way we travel and commute. With public transportation now very limited and risky, many have taken to new modes of transportation to get around—ones that are smaller, more adaptable, and of course, easier to afford than a car. Because of this, motorcycles have grown in popularity, and so have bicycles, tricycles, and e-scooters.

With the surge of two-wheelers and three-wheelers now on the road, fast food chain McDonald’s is making one thing very clear: It welcomes any and all vehicles, as long as they’ve got wheels. Though the fast food chain has always accepted and served all vehicles that turn up at its Drive-Thru, McDonald’s has made a small but significant change to address the misconception that the service is only for cars: Its Drive-Thru is now called Ride-Thru. Watch this:

No matter your ride, you’re always welcome at McDonald’s Ride-Thru for a feel-good moment with your McDonald's favorites. If you happen to be on a bicycle or even a historical kalesa, you’re more than welcome—so there’s no need to search for a spot to safely leave your ride and line up inside to order your food.

The process of picking up a meal at the Ride-Thru is the same as it has always been—order at the first stop, pay at the next, and then pick up your food at the last window. Just don’t forget to observe safety protocols like the mask requirement and McDonald’s contactless payment system (essentially putting your cash into a basket). And if you have the McDonald’s App, it would be a good idea to check it for Ride-Thru-exclusive deals.

Many have put the McDonald’s Ride-Thru system to the test. You’ll find photos of people on motorcycles, bicycles, scooters, and even skateboards trying it out on the #McDoRideThruStories hashtag.

You can share your own story when you drop by the nearest McDonald's Ride-Thru to order your McDonald's favorites for a pick-me-up in the middle of the week. And if you do decide to post your photos, don’t forget to use #McDoRideThruStories and tag McDonald’s social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
